Job summary

F.H. Paschen, a longtime Chicago-area construction firm, seeks a Project Engineer to support the project team with administration, documentation, and field coordination on one to two trades or multiple trades on smaller projects. You will assist in schedules, submittals, and project close-out.

The role requires a B.S. in Construction Management or Civil Engineering and 2+ years of on-site experience; familiarity with Blue Beam, Revit, and Procore is preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a degree related to the built environment is required.
• 2+ years on-the-job experience preferred.
• Experience with construction technology such as Blue Beam, Revit, Procore.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Represent and demonstrate the values of F.H. Paschen: tenacity, versatility, ingenuity, and pride.
• Participate in preconstruction services, including estimating and value engineering.
• Track material procurement and coordinate deliveries
• Produce project schedules with site superintendent.
• Review and determine suitability of submittals.
• Quote/qualify subcontractor requests for change orders.
• Track status of change orders
• Track status of Requests for Information
• Collect, verify and distribute as-builts.
• Maintain project close-out documents.
• Assist with field supervision.
• Subcontractor solicitations
• Correspondence
• Document Control
• Subcontractor Coordination
• Other duties as assigned.
