Job summary

Sunstall Inc. in the United States seeks a Project Engineer to support construction projects by coordinating information flow among staff, Owner, Architect and subcontractors. This role includes supervising subcontract procurement, expediting schedules, and maintaining project documentation.

You will assist in preparing budgets, schedules and change estimates, attend coordination meetings, and help establish BIM and quality control processes to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. Civil Engineer or related degree with 4-5 years of construction industry experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Operations, Project Management, Contract Negotiation, Marketing, and Pricing knowledge.
• Knowledge of current and potential customers, competitors, vendors, and subcontractors in markets.
• Ability to see big-picture issues and implications for long-term construction strategies.

• Strong communication skills from senior management to staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the flow of information among staff, Owner, Architect and subcontractors.
• Prepare, track and distribute RFIs, sketches, and other project information.
• Prepare and distribute weekly quantity reports.
• Attend subcontractor and Owner/Architect coordination meetings and prepare minutes.
• Plan and schedule construction methods with the Superintendent and Project Manager.
• Quantity take-off for budgeting, scheduling, and purchasing.
• Assist in preparation of budgets and change estimates.
• Prepare charts, graphs and field drawings for scheduling and construction purposes.
• Assist in issuing changes and extra work orders per contract documents.
• Update contract document set and field drawings with the Superintendent.

POSITIONSUMMARY:

Providestechnicalsupporttoassignedprojectsbycoordinatingtheflowofinformationconcerningcontractdocumentstothestaff,Owner,Architectandallsubcontractors.Thisroleassistsinsupervisingprojectsubcontractprocurement,expeditingandasnecessaryschedulesubcontractorandsupplierlogisticschedules.Inaddition,theProjectEngineermonitorstheprojectsubmittalsystem,andreportstotheProjectManageronvariousprojectissues.TheProjectEngineerresponsibilitiesspanabroadspectrum,coveringallareasofprojectmanagement.

GENERALDUTIES:

• Controlthepromptflowofinformation,plans,specifications,instructionsandchangestofieldconstructionforces,subcontractorsandmaterialsuppliers.
• Prepare,trackanddistributerequestsforinformation,sketchesandotherprojectinformation.
• Prepareanddistributeweeklyquantityreports.
• ProcureaccurateworkquantitiesfromtheSuperintendentandpayroll/costinformationfromaccountingtocreatereports.
• AttendsubcontractorandOwner/Architectcoordinationmeetingsandpreparemeetingminutesifrequired.
• PlanandscheduletheconstructionmethodsinconjunctionwiththeSuperintendentandtheProjectManager.
• Quantitytake-offforpurposeofbudgetestimates,schedulingandpurchasing.
• Assistinpreparationofbudgetandchangeestimates.
• Preparationofcharts,graphsandfielddrawingsasrequiredforschedulingandconstructionpurposes.
• Assistintheissuanceofchangeandextraworkordersinaccordancewithcontractdocuments.

• Updatetheofficesetofcontractdocumentsonanon-goingbasis.PeriodicallyreviewthefieldsetofcontractdrawingswiththeSuperintendenttoensurethattheyareuptodateandcomplete,includingRFIlogs,sketchlogs,andpostingstodrawings.AssistSuperintendentwithupdatingasrequired.
• Maintainandcontrolallengineeringrecordsandfiles.
• Issueandfiletransmittalsforalloutgoinginformation.
• Assistintheestablishmentoftherequirementsfortheon-siteinspectionandtestingofmaterials,components,systemsandstructuresforprojectqualitycontrol.Reviewallinspectionreports.
• Establishaprojectreferencelibraryofapplicablecodesandstandardsforusebyprojectpersonnel.
• AssisttheProjectManagerinthepreparationandupdatingoftheprojectschedule,includinglabor.
• AssistinthecoordinationandimplementationoftheCompany’sEEOandMBE/MBWEprogramsfortheproject.
• AssistintheestablishmentoftherequirementsfortheBuildingInformationModel(BIM),includingbutnotnecessarilylimitedto,provideprojectspecificinformationfortheBIMexecutionplan,attendallBIMcoordinationmeetingsandpreparemeetingminutesifrequired
