Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager for large-scale mining sites in Patagonia, AZ. You will supervise onsite and offsite construction activities, coordinate multiple contractors, and drive safety, schedule, and budget performance while meeting environmental and community standards.

The candidate will have a Bachelor's in Engineering or technical construction and 6+ years’ mining site experience, with strong safety leadership, cross‑cultural teamwork, and proficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical construction field.
  • Minimum 6 years of large-scale mining construction site management experience.
  • Experience coordinating engineering and vendor technical information.
  • Experience managing and coordinating both union and non-union craft labor.
  • Experience managing project logistics.
  • Experience managing construction contracts and vendor services contracts.
  • Strong English language written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining a safe work culture.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in management of construction activities and staff across facilities and infrastructure.
  • Active management of multiple contractors including planning, scheduling, reporting, health, safety, security, environmental compliance, quality, and community relations.
  • Ensures that work is always executed in a safe manner.
  • Ensures that corporate safety and business goals are met or exceeded.
  • Ensures project construction activities and services are executed in conformity with environmental policies and plans.
  • Ensures project construction activities and services are executed in conformity with community relations policies and plans.
  • Assists with preparation of annual budgets with input from the Project Controls Team.
  • Reviews project construction schedules.
  • Assists with timely submission of contractor progress and cost status reports to the Project Controls Team.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory and building code requirements including Federal, State, and Local.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Assist in management of construction activities and skilled, technical, and professional staff engaged in construction of process facilities, surface infrastructure, roads, dams, water treatment plants, power infrastructure, maintenance and administrative buildings, and all other onsite and offsite infrastructure.
  • Active management of multiple contractors and subcontractors including planning, scheduling, reporting, health, safety, security, environmental compliance, quality, community relations and meeting targets within budget and on time.
  • Ensures that work is always executed in a safe manner.
  • Ensures that S32 corporate safety and business goals are met or exceeded.
  • Ensures project construction activities and services are executed in conformity with S32’s environmental policies and plans.
  • Ensures project construction activities and services are executed in conformity with S32’s community relations policies and plans.
  • Assists with preparation of annual budgets with input and assistance from the Project Controls Team.
  • Reviews project construction schedules.
  • Assists with timely submission of contractor progress and cost status reports to the Project Controls Team.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory and building code requirements including Federal, State, and Local.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical Degree (Construction or Similar) and appropriate Trade qualifications
  • Minimum 6 years of large-scale mining construction site management experience across all trades
  • Experience coordinating engineering and vendor technical information
  • Experience managing and coordinating both union and non-union craft labor
  • Experience managing and coordinating project logistics
  • Experience managing construction contracts and vendor services contracts
  • Experience working with teams and interacting with customers
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural setting
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining a safe work culture
  • Experience with Building Information Management systems
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Environmental Compliance obligations
  • Visible field safety leadership and an ability to drive safety and performance excellence
  • Knowledge of engineering, construction and trade practices
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools used to track cost, time and quality
  • Knowledge of management concepts and best practices
  • Strong and effective communication and engagement skills
  • Relationship building skills: demonstrated empathy, rapport, emotional intelligence and cross-cultural effectiveness with the ability to achieve consensus and build alignment cooperatively
  • Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong English language written and oral communication skills
