Job summary

8MSolar in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee commercial solar projects from final sale to installation and activation. You will configure inverter controls, work with DAS and SunSpec Modbus, and bridge clients with field execution teams.

The ideal candidate has a 4-year technical degree and 3+ years in solar, with strong electrical and commissioning expertise. The role offers hybrid work in Raleigh and a base salary plus commission.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year technical degree.
• 3+ years hands-on solar industry experience with field execution.
• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and commissioning.
• Proficiency with solar PV communication platforms and DAS hardware.

Responsibilities

• Manage workflows on parallel commercial projects and keep timelines.
• Create/update/ transmit detailed project schedules using Basecamp and internal sheets.
• Identify inventory needs and ensure timely equipment ordering.
• Oversee projects from contract signing to final closeout.
• Lead end-to-end commissioning for commercial PV systems and perform QA/QC.
• Configure inverter controls and DAS, ensure data flow to monitoring platforms.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot Modbus TCP/RTU and SunSpec communications.
• Review drawings and supervise onsite 8MSolar teams; address punch-lists.
• Manage client relationships and project billing milestones.
