Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• 2–10 years of project engineering experience, or >1 year with OxyChem.
• Ability to build strong relationships with sponsors, government agencies, and outside firms.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments with projects ranging from $50K to $3MM.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Ability to work weekends/holidays/call-outs.
• Physical ability to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, wear PPE, and respond to alarms.

Responsibilities

• Maintains protection of the environment and health and safety as the top priority.
• Develops and executes small capital projects, primarily maintenance replacements, with design/engineering support as needed.
• Acts as liaison with operations; defines scopes, schedules, and cost estimates; ensures compliance with policies.
• Manages project updates, cost control, documentation, and project close-out.
• Communicates design and technical issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences; trains and reviews junior staff.
• Recommends actions to improve engineering quality and explores new methods.
