Job summary

Westlake Chemical is seeking an experienced engineer to lead and coordinate the design and execution of refinery and petrochemical projects. You will deliver mechanical designs, coordinate with vendors, and ensure adherence to safety standards and project specifications.

The role requires a B.S. in Engineering or related field, and at least 5 years of experience in refinery/chemical plant engineering design. TWIC certification and background screening are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Background checks: motor vehicle record screening, drug testing and pre-employment physical required.
• TWIC card required.
• 5 years' experience in a refinery, chemical or petrochemical plant performing Engineering design responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Develops the general plan for a project, prepares a budget estimate and obtains approval for the plan.
• Prepares AFE for capital projects and assists to prepare Capex budget and five-year plan.
• Provides a detailed mechanical design in accordance with engineering and safety practices and applicable codes.
• Coordinates field installation, inspects and accepts work, and reviews contractor packages.
• Prepares project status reports and communicates with maintenance and production for feedback.
