Job summary

Kiewit Building Group in Ingleside, TX seeks a Project Engineer to oversee multiple industrial building projects from planning to execution. You will manage subcontractors, review plans, supervise field operations and lead scheduling and cost forecasting.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ work experience in construction or engineering, vertical construction preferred.
• 2+ years' experience managing engineers and project subcontractors.
• Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong work ethic, initiative, ethics and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Perform Contract Compliance, quality control & Field Oversight of subcontractors on the project.
• Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications.
• Inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies, and potential cost-saving measures.
• Take corrective actions as needed to resolve field issues.
• Review subordinates’ work for compliance with contract documents; address deficiencies and implement corrective measures.
• Project Scheduling & Coordination
• Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software.
• Collaborate with project management personnel to gather input and ensure schedule accuracy.
• Manage document control processes including logging and tracking new issue drawings and contract documents.
• Review new issue drawings for changes in conditions; quantify impacts and communicate with supervisor.
• Distribute updated documents to field teams and ensure proper implementation.
• Prepare monthly cost projections using data from project management systems.
• Develop quarterly cash flow projections to support financial planning.
• Operational Improvement & Leadership
• Recommend improvements to project operations including staffing, methods, and procedures.
• Serve as managing project engineer/coordinator across multiple projects.
• Provide supervision and on-the-job training for junior engineers and project staff.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Engineer to oversee and support multiple Industrial building projects from planning through execution. This role requires a strong understanding of subcontractor management, and field operations, as well as experience with review of contract plans and specifications, project scheduling, cost forecasting, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a few construction projects under their belt performing subcontractor oversight for building projects, proactive in identifying and resolving issues, ensuring compliance at the site, and driving operational excellence with the team. District Overview

Kiewit Building Group specializes in constructing office buildings, industrial complexes, education and sports facilities, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, science and technology facilities, manufacturing, retail and special-use facilities and extensive interior construction with tenant improvements. This role will be based at our Kiewit Offshore Services (KOS) yard in Ingleside, TX. Qualifications
