Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. in Bend, Oregon, is seeking a Project Engineer I to drive engineering and capital projects supporting life sciences manufacturing.

This fully onsite role offers exposure to cross-functional teams and regulated environments, with opportunities to grow in project management and technical specialties. You will collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and validation teams, managing scopes, schedules, and budgets while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Up to three years of engineering experience in manufacturing or regulated industry.
• Internship, co-op, or project experience supporting engineering projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead small engineering and operational improvement projects from planning through completion.
• Support larger capital projects while learning from experienced project and engineering leaders.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers.
• Support equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and qualification activities.
• Ensure projects meet safety, quality, engineering, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, engineering standards, and equipment reliability.
