Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. seeks an elite engineering leader to serve as Director, Project Delivery (CAPEX Project Lead) based in Bend, Oregon.

You will own the full project lifecycle from basic design through commissioning and startup, overseeing a multi‑million dollar capital portfolio and coordinating with global clients. You will manage cross‑functional teams, mitigate risks, and ensure cGMP/EHS compliance while delivering high‑quality, on‑time facilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of advanced project engineering and project management experience within chemical/biochemical/life sciences industries.
• Extensive experience executing large‑scale capital projects in Small Molecules or Advanced Synthetics is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Strong verbal and written English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own full project lifecycle from basic design through CQV and startup
• Lead multidisciplinary, cross‑functional project teams
• Manage multi‑million dollar CAPEX budgets and forecast adherence
• Mitigate risks and resolve roadblocks balancing detail with strategy
• Build relationships with global contractors, vendors, and engineering firms
• Communicate project status and milestones to leadership and clients
• Ensure facility designs meet cGMP, EHS, and regulatory standards
