Job summary

Tri-State General Contractors is seeking a Project Engineer to support a range of commercial construction projects from startup to closeout. You will manage drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs and contracts, while coordinating procurement, compliance, budgeting and scheduling.

The role requires strong proficiency with ACC, Procore, Bluebeam and MS Office, plus experience in subcontract administration and change management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Project Engineer or similar in commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of drawings, specs, RFIs, submittals, procurement and change management.
• Experience with budgeting, cost tracking and subcontract administration.
• Proficiency in ACC, Procore, Bluebeam and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager through all phases of construction from startup to closeout.
• Manage project documentation: drawings, specs, submittals, RFIs, permits, contracts and records.
• Coordinate RFIs, submittals, procurement, and vendor/subcontractor compliance.
• Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, change orders, and invoice review.
• Support scheduling and milestone tracking to maintain timelines.
• Participate in meetings and communicate with owners, architects, contractors, and teams.
• Monitor progress and identify potential schedule, cost, or coordination issues.
• Assist with quality control, safety docs, inspections, punch lists, and closeout.

• Support project scheduling, milestone tracking, and procurement efforts to help maintain project timelines.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with owners, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Monitor project progress and proactively identify potential schedule, cost, or coordination issues.
• Assist with quality control, safety documentation, inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activities.

Required Qualifications
