Job summary

Teklysium Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a Project Engineer to help manage subcontracts, purchase orders, submittals, and coordinate with the site superintendent on a multi-site project.

You will develop objectives, review plans, study design specs, prepare cost estimates, conduct tests, monitor progress, and ensure safety compliance while maintaining quality and budget. Candidates should have civil engineering or construction mgmt degree and 2+ years water/wastewater exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management required.
• Experience with Water & Wastewater projects preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Project or Primavera (P6) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and controls project elements to complete engineering projects.
• Reviews project proposals and plans to develop objectives with management.
• Assigns personnel to project phases and reviews contractor bids to determine responsibilities.
• Studying product design, customer requirements and performance standards to determine specifications.
• Prepares cost estimates and conducts tests to confirm product performance.

Summary Of Responsibilities

The Project Engineer responsibilities to help manage subcontracts, purchase orders, submittals, coordinates with site superintendent and additional oversite for all activities on a jobsite(s), including scheduling.

Job Functions

• Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
• Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management.
• Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors.
• Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
• Completes technical studies and prepares cost estimates.
• Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
• Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
• Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
• Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions.
• Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts.
• Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending actions.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications And Experience

• Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel, & CAD
• Bachelor’s or Master of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Minimum of 2 years of experience with Water & Wastewater projects

• Working knowledge and experience in all phases of construction.
• Proficient with MS office projects and Primavera (P6)
