Job summary

Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. KG in Detroit seeks an experienced engineering professional to plan and lead automotive programs through milestones. You will manage schedules, budgets and deliverables, coordinate bid packages, and guide teams through design reviews and change control.

You will apply DFMEA analysis, GD&T, SAP/IQRM skills, and deep product knowledge to drive robust engineering solutions and cost-conscious development within a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 3–4 years automotive engineering experience.
• Experience in project management, PDP, product development, engineering materials, GD&T, DFMEA creation and analysis, and engineering change management.
• Proficiency with SAP and IQRM; strong IT, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements engineering programs, activities and milestones per customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain schedules and budgets for assigned engineering projects.
• Provide reports on milestone status and adjust schedules.
• Control expenditures within project budgets.
• Coordinate creation of deliverables for bids, including BOM, sizing, and form/fit assessments.
• Assigns and oversees project personnel across design, testing and specifications.
• Review product designs for compliance with engineering principles and standards.
• Coordinate technical developments, scheduling and issue resolution for design/test problems.
• Direct integration of technical activities and products.
• Analyze risks and DFMEA impact; prepare proposals and implement changes.
• Develop and implement changes and manage Development Team Meeting (DTM) for change control.

Your Tasks

• Plans and implements engineering programs, activities and milestones, per customer requirements.


• May develop and maintain a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering projects.


• Provide reports on the status of project milestones and adjust schedules accordingly.


• Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.


• Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables including: internal and external samples, design documents for internal release and customer.


• Coordinate and create deliverables for bid packages regarding engineering (including BOM creation, product sizing, fit and form evaluation).


• Assigns and oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.


• Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.


• Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.


• Directs integration of technical activities and products.


• Responsible for the technical analysis of risks and errors (ie. DFMEA) / problems and / or impact of changes, preparation of proposals and implementation of technical changes.


• Responsible for the development and implementation of changes.


• Implementation and management of the DTM (Development Team Meeting) responsible for change control management.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; and three to four years related experience and/or training in engineering within the automotive industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
