Job summary

Halo Technical Solutions Global is seeking a Project Engineer - 1 to support QA/QC and commissioning on large industrial projects in Sullivan, Indiana. This role emphasizes managing critical project documentation, ensuring traceability, and maintaining compliance across all construction phases.

You will coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams, review and organize RFIs, submittals, and drawings, and support commissioning readiness efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting document control on construction or commissioning projects.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized project documentation (drawings, specs, RFIs, submittals, change orders, vendor docs).
  • Ensure use of current approved document versions across stakeholders.
  • Upload, track, and manage documents in project platforms (CxAlloy, ACC).
  • Review documents for completeness and compliance with standards.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams to obtain corrections.

Compensation: $45-$50 | Per Diem: $4,515 | Hourly W2 Full Time | OT after40 hours | Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental |

Position Overview

The Project Engineer - 1 role is a vital position within Halo Technical Solutions Global’s quality and commissioning team, supporting large-scale industrial construction projects with a strong electrical scope. This role is responsible for managing and verifying critical project documentation, supporting QA/QC and commissioning readiness efforts, and ensuring documentation accuracy, traceability, and compliance throughout all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain organized project documentation including drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, change orders, vendor documents, and correspondence.
  • Ensure all project stakeholders are working from the most current and approved document versions.
  • Upload, track, and manage documentation within project platforms (e.g., CxAlloy, ACC).
  • Review incoming documents for completeness, formatting accuracy, and compliance with project standards.
  • Identify and flag discrepancies such as outdated drawings, missing attachments, or incomplete submittals.
  • Maintain and update tracking logs for submittals, RFIs, drawing revisions, QA/QC checklists, commissioning readiness items, punch lists, and delivery logs.
  • Generate routine documentation status reports and proactively monitor deadlines.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams to obtain missing documents and required corrections.
  • Support QA/QC and commissioning teams by collecting, organizing, and verifying required inspection and testing documentation prior to system startup.
  • Assist in assembling complete and accurate closeout and turnover packages, including O&M manuals, as-built drawings, warranties, and test reports.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and document action items to ensure accountability and follow-through.
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in construction, engineering, or project coordination roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience supporting document control processes on construction or commissioning projects.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation (RFIs, submittals, change orders, drawings, specifications).
  • Experience using document management or project management platforms.
  • Strong organizational and document management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Commitment to transparency and cross-team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
  • Experience with CxAlloy, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting QA/QC or commissioning processes.
  • Experience with turnover and closeout documentation.
  • Knowledge of construction industry standards and specifications.
  • OSHA certification or safety training.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
