Job summary

Integrity Municipal Systems LLC, a subsidiary of Cleanwater1, seeks a Project Engineer for our Zeeland, MI facility to design and document projects for water and wastewater applications. You will prepare technical submittals, BOMs, P&IDs, and O&M manuals, coordinating with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Service teams across North America.

This full-time role requires a Mechanical engineering degree, 2+ years of experience, CAD skills, and strong communication; travel to client sites

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2+ years post-graduation engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat; and 2D CAD software.
  • Willingness to learn Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings (mechanical, process, electrical).
  • Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; multi-tasking capability.

Responsibilities

Job description

Integrity Municipal Systems LLC (“IMS”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cleanwater1, Inc., is a stable and fast-growing company specializing in lime slaking equipment, odor control and chlorine scrubber equipment and aftermarket services, and chemical feed equipment for drinking water and wastewater applications.

The Project Engineer is a full-time position based in our Zeeland, MI facility. Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, this position will work closely with the Applications Engineering, Project Management, Purchasing/Planning, Manufacturing and Service teams in execution of standard and custom projects within the North American water/wastewater markets. The Project Engineer will work in an internally focused role to produce designs, technical submittals, Bills of Material (“BOM”), and Operating and Maintenance (“O&M”) Manuals for projects.

IMS has two locations: Zeeland, MI Factory and Poway, CA. The Project Engineer will be required to be in the Zeeland, MI facility full-time but will also support the Poway, CA facility.

Essential Job Functions
  • Review customer specifications and drawings to confirm scope of project and proposal adherence to customer specifications.
  • Work with Engineering Manager to resolve any discrepancies between proposal and customer specifications to confirm final scope of supply.
  • Prepare technical submittal documents, project materials, and project plans.
  • Generate P&IDs, cut sheets and other project documentation as required.
  • Prepare fabrication drawings and BOMs.
  • Correctly apply industry standards and codes to design.
  • Review and select materials and equipment that comply with component specification documents and application requirements.
  • Test and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Prepare project O&M manuals, including detailed step-by-step operating instructions and troubleshooting guides.
  • Communicate to senior management assessed risk and project status.
  • Maintain positive relationships and ensure effective communication between customers and project team members are maintained.
  • Maintain project related materials in the project library/storage system.
  • Comply with IMS’s safety and personal protective equipment policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, or a similar engineering field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience post-graduation in an engineering role.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat; and 2D CAD software.
  • Willingness to learn Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD software if no previous experience.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, including mechanical, process, and electrical.
  • Well-developed organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with effective use of visual aids.
  • Experience in managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to identify and define system design requirements based on design specifications.
  • Ability to interpret applicable Industrial Codes and Standards and apply to designs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • The ability to use Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD software to modify existing designs and edit drawings.
  • Experience in the municipal water and/or wastewater industries.
  • Experience in an applications or sales support role that included bidding and selling capital equipment.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk, and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate the equipment and tools required for this position
  • Must be able to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it responds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus; and ability to look at computer monitors for much of the workday.
  • Approximately 90% Office
    • ~70% Office – Desk time for essential job tasks.
    • ~20% Light Industrial (Manufacturing) – Shop time for assembly experience and fabrication review with builders. May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals, and industrial facilities. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.
  • Approximately 10% Travel (Visit customer sites for installation inspection, equipment startup, and operator training for applicable projects) – May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals, and industrial facilities. This position is non-exempt. Compensation is dependent on skill level. The base salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $75,000 annually. Benefits package and incentives are provided. We generally offer employees working 21 hours per work or more medical, dental, vision, along with voluntary ancillary benefits. The Company has a 401(k)-match program and has company-paid life and AD&D insurance available for eligible employees.
