Compensation Range: $78,200-$105,800

Purpose of the Job

The primary function of this position is to provide overall technical information and support on projects that are assigned throughout the duration of the project. This includes project management of all RELCO scope.

Authority & Accountability
  • Authority to research and obtain internal or external assistance in designing systems, including communication directly with the customer, vendors, other engineers, etc.
  • Authority to design systems and specify components within their expertise areas to meet project specifications.
  • Authority to approve purchase items for assigned projects.
  • Authority to alter or halt the progress of assigned projects with just cause and according to company policy.
  • Authority to approve process design changes that do not affect overall process operation in assigned projects.
  • Authority to accept change orders and secure additional work in accordance with company policy.
Responsibilities

Design

  • Design systems and specify components that perform safely and meet contract specifications.
  • Document engineering calculations for the systems designed and components specified.
  • Ensure quality of designs for projects.
  • Timeliness of completing designs for projects.

Project Management

  • Manage projects to meet schedule and budget constraints.
  • Maintain engineering project files in a complete and organized manner according to company policy.
  • Prepare and direct P&I Drawings and General Arrangement Drawings.
  • Complete P&I Equipment Lists (PIEL).
  • Assemble informational packets for submission to Automation Engineer, Mechanical Engineer and Construction Manager.
  • Facilitate approval of all standard and non-standard assembly drawings on projects.
  • Prepare requisitions or place orders for all buy-out equipment.
  • Prepare or approve requisitions for non-stock items purchased for projects.
  • Coordinate with construction to prepare for and arrange on-site installation.
  • Provide necessary project information to the appropriate company personnel/departments in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure quality of project management.
  • Timeliness in completing projects on schedule.
  • Stay within budget for projects.

Customer Relationship / Communication

  • Maintain a positive and cooperative customer/RELCO relationship.
  • Effectively communicate all pertinent information and specifications to the appropriate departments.
  • Maintain quality communication with customers and other departments.

Commissioning

  • Coordinate construction and control activities during pre-commissioning and commissioning, and handle customer communication at the jobsite.
  • Ensure quality coordination for a successful commissioning.

Other Duties

  • Other projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
