Job summary

The Bell Company is hiring a Project Engineer to support planning and management of mechanical and plumbing construction projects in the Washington, DC area. You will collaborate with engineering, field teams, and vendors to drive projects from inception through commissioning.

Experience in construction and a strong interest in project controls is valued; OSHA 30-hour certification is required before starting.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; other engineering curricula may be considered.
  • Experience or interest in construction careers and project controls.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required prior to start date.

  • Support project controls activities such as submittals, change orders, purchase orders, material takeoffs, and releases.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely delivery, budgeting adherence, and safety and quality standards.

Overview

The Regional Office is located in Hanover, MD with the initial assignment in Washington, DC. The rate of pay is $55-$80k per year. The Bell Company is a large mechanical contractor handling complex projects in the East Coast market. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to hospitals, laboratories, and large industrial and institutional projects. PAY RANGE: $55k – 80k/year for Project Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and managing mechanical and plumbing construction projects on complex industrial, institutional, and healthcare sites.
  • Support project controls activities such as submittals, change orders, purchase orders, material takeoffs, and releases as needed.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely delivery, budgeting adherence, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, field teams, and vendors to execute projects from inception through commissioning.
Qualifications
  • 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred; other engineering curricula or Construction Management may be considered.
  • Experience in construction and a demonstrated interest in a career in construction; entry-level candidates with required education will be considered.
  • Past work history in project controls is preferred; inclusive of submittals, change orders, purchase orders, material takeoffs, and releases.
Experience
  • Demonstrated desire for a career in construction.

Certifications
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required prior to start date (online course provided at no cost).
Additional Requirements
  • Maintain ethics and professionalism in the execution of duties.

  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening; willing to work all hours and schedules assigned.
