I’m currently working with a well-established heavy civil contractor that is looking to add a Project Engineer to their team in the Washington, DC / Baltimore market.
This is an opportunity for a Project Engineer who wants to be more than just a number on a project team. You’ll work directly alongside the Project Manager and Superintendent, playing a key role in keeping projects moving from planning through completion.
The position has a strong mix of field coordination, project administration, scheduling, cost control and engineering, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys being involved in the details and solving problems before they become bigger issues.
Day-to-day, you’ll be involved in supporting project planning, monitoring progress, coordinating with subcontractors and vendors, assisting with budgets and change orders, and making sure the project remains on schedule and aligned with the client's expectations. You’ll also work closely with inspectors, engineers and site personnel, while helping maintain accurate project documentation and ensuring contract specifications are being followed.
The ideal background:
A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred, while experience with HCSS or Sage Timberline would be a plus.
You're working closely with senior project leadership but also getting genuine responsibility for the cost, schedule, coordination and execution of the work.
If you're currently a Project Engineer, Project Coordinator or Assistant PM within utilities, water/wastewater or heavy civil construction and you're considering your next move, I'd be interested in speaking with you.
