Job description

Great opportunity for a Project Engineer to work for a US building products leader in a remote role with site-to-site travel primarily in the SE and Midwest.

Our client is cement material manufacturer looking for a Project Engineer to help lead site projects ranging from 2 mil equipment installs up to 250 mil greenfield site builds at multiple locations throughout the US from initiation through finalization.

Responsibilities

• Work to plan projects, establish project criteria, coordinate project reviews, and ensure the proper implementation of project elements
• Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned engineering projects.
• Formulating project parameters and assigning responsibilities to the most capable employees and monitoring the project team.
• Assists the construction manager in managing the implementation phase of a project.
• Performing quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project's status.
• Cooperating and communicating with the project manager and other project participants and collaborating with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability.
• Reviewing the engineering tasks and initiating the necessary corrective actions.
• Developing specifications for the project's needed equipment.
• Creating frameworks to measure the project's metrics and data collection.
• Develop & conduct quality inspections during the construction phase of projects.
• Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
• Actively documents lessons learnt and feeds back into broader organization.
• Travel – 50%

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
• 3+ years’ experience in a Construction, Manufacturing, or Engineering Project based role
• Requirements Analysis, Design Skills, Project Management, Knowledge of Construction Methods and Materials, Process Improvement, Technical Understanding, Documentation Skills, Risk Management, CAD/CAM.
• Knowledge in civil, mechanical or electrical construction practices
• Project scheduling skills with experience in Microsoft Project/Primavera including schedule development and maintenance desirable.
