Job summary

Walrath Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a motivated Project Engineer for our client’s Heavy Civil Construction team in East Greenbush, NY.

This full-time, permanent role focuses on supporting planning, field visits, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination on large-scale projects. The ideal candidate holds an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering and at least 2 years of construction or engineering experience, with a solid grasp of heavy civil methods and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in civil/related field required.
• Minimum 2 years of construction or engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of heavy civil construction methods, materials and safety standards.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office; basic CM software helpful.

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing heavy civil construction projects, including roads, bridges, and infrastructure.
• Support field/site visits to monitor project progress, ensure compliance with design specifications, and address any issues that arise.
• Help prepare and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
• Collaborate with team members, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
• Learn and adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements on construction sites.
• Assist in preparing progress reports, technical documentation, and project proposals.

Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
