Job summary

Kay & Co in Taunton, MA is seeking a Project Engineer for a heavy civil and building contractor with 75+ years in Massachusetts. You’ll support the Project Manager from buyout through closeout on public and private projects, including water and wastewater facilities and municipal buildings.

You’ll split time between the office and site, manage submittals, RFIs, shop drawings and document control, track change orders and scheduling, and coordinate with subcontractors, owners and inspectors.

Qualifications

• A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or something similar.
• Two years or more as a Project Engineer with a general contractor.
• Public or municipal project experience is a big plus.
• Water, wastewater or civil work experience would be great but isn't essential.
• Organised, confident with paperwork and happy splitting time between the office and site.
• Procore or similar software experience.

Our client is a third generation, family owned contractor that has been building across Massachusetts for more than 75 years. They started out in site work and have grown into a firm that takes on some of the most technical public and private projects in the state, from water and wastewater treatment plants to municipal buildings, parks and athletic facilities.

The work

This is not a contractor that does the same job over and over. As a Project Engineer you could be on any of these:

• Water and wastewater treatment facilities
• DPW and municipal buildings
• Commercial renovations and office build outs
• Parks, public spaces and athletic complexes
• Specialty and infrastructure projects that other contractors shy away from

Most of the work is public, so you'll come away with a strong grounding in Massachusetts public construction that will serve you for the rest of your career.
