We are seeking a capable and motivated Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of engineering projects from initial planning through to completion. This role will involve coordinating technical activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain high standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing technical documentation, drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost information; coordinating design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning activities; and tracking project milestones, risks, budgets, and resources. You will assist with tender evaluations, contractor management, site inspections, progress reporting, and change control. The role will also require you to identify technical and operational challenges, develop practical solutions, and ensure that all work complies with relevant legislation, industry standards, quality procedures, and health and safety requirements. Occasional travel to project and supplier sites may be required.
Applicants should have a degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in engineering, project management, or a related discipline, along with experience supporting or delivering engineering or infrastructure projects. Strong organisational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues. Experience with project planning tools, engineering software, risk management, and document control would be advantageous. Professional registration or progress towards professional accreditation is desirable, but not essential. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, commercially aware, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes in a collaborative environment.
