Job summary

TruTalent Inc. in California seeks a Project Engineer to support project managers from bid through closeout. You’ll assist with bidding, estimating for self-performed work, and proposals, while handling prime contracts and subcontracts, submittals, change orders, RFIs, invoicing, and project documentation.

You’ll serve as a liaison between office and field and participate in trade shows and industry organizations. A Construction/Engineering degree and 1+ year experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1+ year experience as a project engineer.
• Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel and Project.
• Strong understanding of all trades, including MEP.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Client-focused with a service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project managers from bid through project closeout.

• Support PM with prime contracts and subcontracts.

Job Description:

• Working with projects managers on all aspects of a project from bid through project close out
• Assisting in bidding out projects to subcontractors, estimating for self-performed work and preparing proposals
• Assisting project manager with prime contract and issuing subcontracts
• Integral part of the construction team, working on submittals, change orders, RFI's, project documents, project meetings, invoicing owner, reviewing and approving subcontractor invoices and overall project processes
• Liaison between office and field
• Participate in trade shows and industry organizations

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree with a preference in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 1 + years' experience as a project engineer
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Project
• Good understanding of all trades-including MEP
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
