Therma, a Legence company, is hiring a Project Engineer for the TAB Department in San Jose, CA. The role supports the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and project accounting, leveraging HVAC/Plumbing industry experience.

In-office position with emphasis on coordination, vendor relations, and documentation. Base salary ranges from $85,000 to $95,000 per year, with compensation based on skills, experience, and location.

Qualifications

• Experience in the construction industry is required.
• HVAC or Plumbing Mechanical Contractor on large commercial projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and cost management.
• Manage schedule, billings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure on-time material delivery.
• Prepare project documentation and reports for PM.
• Support pre-construction administrative duties.
• Establish and maintain vendor relationships and purchase orders.
• Prepare project closeout documents.

Project Engineer Full Time, In-office

Therma, a Legence company has an immediate need for a Project Engineer in our TAB Department. This position is responsible for assisting the Project Manager and project management with the overall planning & scheduling, resource allocation and project accounting. Previous experience working in the Construction industry is highly desired.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsibilities span a broad spectrum, covering all the areas of project management including Project Planning, Cost Management, Time Management, Quality Management, Contract Administration, and Safety Management.
• Ability to maintain a strong relationship with vendors.
• Assist in gathering the best pricing and on-time delivery of materials from vendors.
• Managing: schedule, billings, submittals, RFI’s & change orders, select and monitor subs.
• Pre-Construction administrative duties.
• Submittal Management
• COR/CO Management
• Schedule Updates
• Meeting preparation and participation for all relevant project meetings.
• Project Reporting Management
• Perform administrative and office support activities for the project management team.
• Assist with the development of project documentation.
• Identify and assist in generating pre-bid Requests for Information.
• Track project issues and communicate with the project manager.
• Prepare project closeout documents and internal work documents.
• Assist in selection of materials for purchase.
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure approval from Project Managers.

Qualifications

• Construction Management or related degree preferred.
• Experience working for an HVAC or Plumbing Mechanical Contractor on large commercial projects strongly preferred.
• Experience working in the construction industry required.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Proven ability to multitask and effectively manage competing priorities.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and SharePoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.

Base salary: $85k-$95k per year.
