Project Engineer (September 2026 Start)

Position Summary

This is a junior-level management position that offers individuals with limited experience in construction the opportunity to learn hands on estimating, management, and commercial construction practices. Project Engineers usually work out of the jobsite as necessary to meet the demands of their projects. The projected start date for this role is September 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with managing QC Paperwork/Tracking on Procore
  • Assist with quantity take-offs, bidding and estimating
  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with tracking of contract documents and resolving field-generated questions
  • Responsible for learning safe construction practice, documenting changes, tracking schedules, overseeing subcontractors
  • Assist the Project Superintendent with record keeping
  • Our intent is to expose Project Engineers to all aspects of a construction project by giving them a significant level of responsibility. They are not limited to a specific group of tasks.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Background: experience at a general contractor preferred. Experience with multi-family and institutional building preferred.
  • Education: minimum 4-year degree required. Have a degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or development.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Project, Excel, and Outlook required. Experience with BIM and/or Procore.
Physical Requirements
  • Repetitively use hand motions for keyboard use and physical use of vision to read computer monitors and paper documents.
  • Regularly use hands to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, phone, printer, etc.)
  • See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and have the ability to adjust focus.
  • Sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time working on a computer.
  • Talk and hear at normal levels. The noise level in the office work environment is usually low to moderate.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.

  • Employment – This is a full‑time position located on a project jobsite in the Bay Area. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer an annual discretionary performance‑based bonus.

The base yearly salary for this exempt role is targeted between $90,000 - $95,000.
