Job summary

JW Fowler is seeking an experienced project assistant to support the civil construction team on deep sewer pipelines and water/wastewater treatment projects on the West Coast. The role involves coordinating with field staff, reviewing plans, and helping prepare reports and as-builts.

The ideal candidate has a engineering-related bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of relevant experience, with strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Engineering Management, or related discipline is preferred.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience; internship experience is highly desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding plans and specifications.
• A team player who can work with a diverse group to achieve goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform general field work as required.
• Assist with QC, safety, and subcontractor coordination as delegated by project Superintendent.
• Assist Foremen with interpretation of plans and specifications.
• Assist in preparation of daily reports, project as-builts, and contract document maintenance.
• Work closely with project Superintendent to avoid duplication of effort.
• Review contract drawings and specifications to ensure proper coordination and installation.
• Help ensure the safety of our team – Everyone is responsible for safety!

Specific Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for assisting the project team in the successful completion of the project. The following responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties or skills required. Duties and responsibilities may be added or changed as deemed appropriate by management at any time.
