Job summary

Actalent in Pardeeville, WI is seeking a Project Engineer to design and develop custom sheet metal and structural components using SolidWorks. You will transform customer requirements into manufacturable designs, maintain BOMs, and ensure smooth handoff to production in a collaborative, hands-on environment.

You will manage projects from concept to release, work with purchasing, manufacturing, and quality teams, and use EPDM or similar tools for document control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Minimum 6+ months of SolidWorks design experience.
• At least 6+ months in a manufacturing environment, preferably sheet metal fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements to understand functional needs and design intent for sheet metal and structural assemblies.
• Develop mechanical designs and variations for fabricated components in SolidWorks.
• Create and maintain accurate BOMs for materials, hardware, and assemblies.
• Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely identification of required materials.
• Release finalized designs with complete drawings, models, and documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical and optimized for fabrication.
• Work with sales, marketing, and quality to align designs with customer and internal standards.
• Support product development through design updates, improvements, and new configurations.
• Assist project management by tracking progress and coordinating tasks from concept to release.
• Use EPDM or similar tools to manage files, revisions, and engineering documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, fabrication processes, and product performance.
• Work hands-on with production teams to validate design intent and understand fabrication methods.
• Maintain strong attention to detail across all design work and documentation.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 6+ months of SolidWorks design experience (can be internship)

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Pardeeville, WI.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $70000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
