Senior Mechanical Design EngineerPosition Overview

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of advanced electromechanical products from concept through production. This individual will play a key role in product architecture, design execution, validation, and manufacturing readiness while partnering closely with engineering, operations, suppliers, and customers.

The ideal candidate has experience developing complex products in automotive, energy storage, battery, or industrial applications and is comfortable taking ownership of projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead product development efforts from concept generation through production release
• Develop mechanical assemblies, structural components, and enclosure systems using 3D CAD tools
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings and support documentation
• Participate in system architecture discussions involving electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing stakeholders
• Drive design reviews and support product validation activities
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for design-related issues
• Support prototype builds, testing activities, and product launches
• Manage engineering bills of materials (BOMs), product revisions, and engineering changes
• Work directly with suppliers to review designs, resolve technical issues, and improve manufacturability
• Partner with production teams to support new product introductions and continuous improvement efforts
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
• 7+ years of product design or mechanical engineering experience
• Experience developing products from concept through production implementation
• Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
• Strong understanding of GD&T and manufacturing drawing standards
• Experience with DFMEA, design verification, validation testing, and root cause analysis
• Knowledge of BOM management, ECO processes, and product lifecycle management systems
• Experience supporting prototype builds and manufacturing launch activities
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with battery systems, electrification products, energy storage systems, or automotive applications
• Familiarity with low-voltage and high-voltage electromechanical systems
• Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and assembly processes
• Background supporting validation testing and production readiness activities
• Experience working within ERP, PLM, or MRP systems

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
