Job summary

Musco is seeking a Project Engineer in Oskaloosa, IA to join the Application Engineering Team. You will assess customer needs, define solutions using Musco products, and prepare production documents and CAD drawings for implementation.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering (or related technical field), proficiency in AutoCAD, and strong communication with the ability to manage multiple projects. Occasional travel and night work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical degree preferred
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Mechanical and electrical experience preferred
• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects

Responsibilities

• Assess and define customer's values and technical requirements for each project
• Define appropriate solution using Musco products and documentation to support sales strategy
• Create custom lighting solution utilizing proprietary software
• Create production documents including bill of materials, loading list, and special build drawings
• Review project specs to ensure compliance with codes and documented requirements
• Communicate technical information to architects, engineers, specifiers, sales reps, contractors and internal teams
• Design/apply custom controls
• Provide initial and secondary check of production documents for accuracy
• Prepare technical presentation materials and CAD drawings
• Fine tune field aim Musco products
• Other duties as assigned

Project Engineer

The Musco Application Engineering Team has an opening for a Project Engineer in Oskaloosa, IA. If your experience aligns with the qualifications outlined below, we look forward to hearing from you!

Essential Criteria:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related technical degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD
• Proficient computer skills
• Mechanical and electrical experience preferred
• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects at a given time.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills; ability to work well with internal and external team members
• Strong technical aptitude with attention to detail
• Previous Lighting design knowledge a plus but not required.

Other Special Requirements:

• Up to 10% travel may be required
• Ability to work at heights
• Some night time work required

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assess and define customer's values and technical requirements associated with each assigned project.
• Define appropriate solution using Musco products and documentation needed to support Musco's sales strategy.
• Create custom lighting solution utilizing proprietary software.
• Create built to order production documents including bill of materials, loading list, & special build drawings.
• Review project specifications and bid plans to ensure structural, electrical, lighting design and controls are meeting the codes and requirements of the published documentation.
• Communicate technical information, both written and verbal, to architects, engineers, specifiers, sale representatives, contractors and internal team members. Able to simplify and explain complex concepts.
• Design/apply custom controls.
• Provide initial and secondary check of production documents, verifying accuracy of all components.
• Prepare technical presentation material and drawings utilizing CAD and other software programs
• Fine tune field aim Musco products
• Other duties as assigned
