Qualifications

Position: Project Engineer

Reports to: Project Manager

General Qualities
  1. Strong written and oral communication skills to coordinate the activities
  2. Proactive self-starter capable of setting a positive example for the employees
  3. Ability to supervise engineering staff and provide technical input/review of their work
Duties/Responsibilities
  1. Expected to work well in team environment and oversee or assist in the oversight of the project team including all architects, designers, engineers, contractors, vendors, and consultants
  2. Exhibit real time understanding of project status (all facets) and be able to develop, distribute and discuss projects updates as required
  3. Responsible for the vetting and hiring of project consultants and vendors to ensure value and achievement of customer goals
  4. Ensure that all local, state, and building codes and regulations and safety precautions are followed.
  5. Optimization in terms of project schedule, resources, supply chain, cost & quality
  6. Obtains all necessary regulations and permits.
  7. Develops and adheres to the budget, timeline, and quality control plan
  8. Perform constructability reviews, pricing, and cost impacts due to phasing and timing
Requirements
Experience and Educational Requirements
  1. 5-10 years of experience in structural engineering (Buildings or bridges)
  2. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  3. Licensed Professional Engineer preferably in NY and NJ.
  4. Possesses familiarity with Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Bluebeam, and Project scheduling software.
