Job summary

NW Staffing Resources is seeking a Lead Capital Projects professional to manage initiatives from planning through completion at our facilities in Mesa, AZ. This role collaborates with engineering, operations, maintenance, contractors, and leadership to keep projects moving forward.

The candidate will drive project scope, budgets, schedules, risks, changes, and documentation while coordinating field activities and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in industrial engineering, construction, CAPEX project management, project controls, or field coordination.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate capital projects from planning and design through construction, commissioning, startup, and final handoff.
• Track project scope, budgets, schedules, risks, changes, and overall progress.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors while serving as a key point of contact between engineering, operations, maintenance, and site leadership.
• Review project schedules, progress reports, and contractor performance and help resolve issues that could impact cost or schedule.
• Support design and constructability reviews, HAZOPs, commissioning planning, and startup activities.
• Manage RFIs, action items, issue logs, project documentation, and status reporting.
• Coordinate field activities to keep work moving safely and minimize delays.
• Support change management by evaluating impacts to scope, cost, and schedule.
• Work with operations and maintenance teams to ensure projects meet operational and maintenance needs.
• Help ensure projects follow company standards, environmental requirements, and safety regulations.

SALARY: $110,000 – $120,000 per year

SCHEDULE: Full-Time | On-Site | Travel up to 25% as needed

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in industrial engineering, construction, CAPEX project management, project controls, or field coordination.
• Experience supporting capital projects in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment.
• Experience working with EPC contractors and industrial construction projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, risk management, and change management.
• Experience with project management software and Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software preferred.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and industrial safety practices.
• PMP certification is a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 25% based on project needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to spend extended periods working at a computer and desk.
• Ability to walk through active manufacturing and construction areas.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This role requires the ability to regularly walk and navigate industrial manufacturing and construction environments, including climbing stairs, accessing active work areas, and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). The position may require prolonged periods of standing, walking, sitting, and working around active construction and manufacturing operations, with occasional lifting or carrying of materials and equipment as needed.
