Job summary

Henkel’s Adhesive Technologies segment seeks a process engineer to support capital projects, engineering activities, and commissioning at our Memphis site. You will coordinate with contractors, review P&IDs, and help ensure safety and efficiency across manufacturing operations.

The role requires a chemical or mechanical engineering background, 1–3 years in chemical processing, strong project management, and the readiness to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1–3 years in chemical process industry with hands-on experience.
  • Strong project management with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and make data-driven decisions.
  • Knowledge of unit operations and PLC/DCS systems.
  • Familiarity with API/ASME/NFPA/ISO/OSHA standards.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects while staying on schedule and within budget.
  • Assist with basic and detailed engineering for large capital projects.
  • Generate purchase orders and coordinate equipment/material tracking.
  • Coordinate daily activities between contractors and internal operations; participate in meetings.
  • Verify field installations against P&IDs and specs to ensure accurate execution.
  • Support safety programs (Safe Work Permits, HAZOPs, MOCs, PSSRs).
  • Assist with equipment commissioning, startup activities, and improvement initiatives across the site.

What you´ll do
  • Support the planning, execution, and delivery ofcapital projects while helping ensure projects stay on schedule and withinbudget.
  • Assist with basic and detailed engineeringfor large capital projects executed by the regional group.
  • Generate purchase orders and manage the tracking,storage, and coordination of project equipment and materials.
  • Coordinate daily activities between contractors andinternal operations, participate in contractor meetings, and provideconstruction oversight as needed.
  • Conduct field verification of installations againstP&IDs, equipment specification sheets, and engineering design drawingsto ensure accurate execution.
  • Support process safety and compliance initiatives,including Safe Work Permits, risk assessments, HAZOPs, MOCs, PSSRs, andother safety-related programs.
  • Assist with equipment commissioning, startupactivities, and ongoing engineering and operational improvementinitiatives across the site.
What makes you a good fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or MechanicalEngineering.
  • 1-3 years of experience in the chemical processindustry, with hands‑on experience in or supporting a chemicalmanufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability tomanage multiple priorities and projects at different stagessimultaneously.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, evaluateprocesses, and make data driven decisions; required.
  • Knowledge of unit operations, and PLC/DCS systems ishighly valued.
  • Industry standards (API, ASME, NFPA, ISO, OSHA), management of small capital projects, Knowledge ofprocess safety management, a plus
  • Excellent communication and relationship-buildingskills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influencestakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% required.

The salary rangefor this role is $75,000.00 and $80,000.00. This range represents the good‑faith minimumand maximum wages the Company reasonably expects to offer for this role at thetime of posting.In addition to base salary, this position may be eligiblefor incentive pay or other forms of compensation, as applicable. TheCompany also offers a comprehensive benefits package as described above. Actualcompensation will be based on factors such as the candidate’s skills,experience, education, training, and work location.
