LHH is seeking a Project Engineer to support commercial plumbing projects from startup through completion in Matthews, NC. You will manage documentation, track costs, review blueprints, and coordinate with field teams, vendors, and clients to keep projects moving forward.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial construction or plumbing projects.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, specifications.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to manage competing priorities.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage project documentation (submittals, RFIs, change orders, contracts).
• Track drawings, materials, equipment, deliveries, and site needs.
• Review blueprints, specs, and scopes of work.
• Monitor costs against estimates and budgets.
• Assist with schedules, forecasting, and job budgets.
• Coordinate inspections, permits, and commissioning activities.
• Attend jobsite meetings and conduct regular inspections.
• Support QA, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as liaison between leadership, customers, vendors, inspectors, and field teams.
• Ensure staffing, materials, and documentation for completion.

Are you an organized, detail-oriented construction professional who enjoys keeping complex projects moving forward?

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support commercial plumbing projects from startup through completion. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands construction documentation, jobsite coordination, cost tracking, and the importance of strong communication between field teams, project leadership, vendors, and clients.

What You’ll Do

• Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, contracts, testing logs, and certificates of insurance
• Track project drawings, revisions, materials, equipment rentals, deliveries, and site requirements
• Review blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work
• Monitor labor, subcontractor, equipment, and material costs against project estimates
• Assist with project schedules, productivity tracking, forecasting, and job budgets
• Coordinate inspections, permits, commissioning activities, and pre-functional checklists
• Attend jobsite meetings and conduct regular site inspections
• Support quality assurance, quality control, safety, and compliance requirements
• Serve as a liaison between project leadership, customers, vendors, inspectors, and field teams
• Help ensure each project has the necessary staffing, materials, equipment, and documentation for successful completion

What We’re Looking For

• Experience supporting commercial construction, plumbing, mechanical, or related projects
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and technical documents
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure
• Strong computer skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of jobsite safety requirements
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
