Atlas Copco North America LLC is seeking a Project Engineer to manage schedules, drive NPI, and lead cross-functional teams in a Michael City, IN area drive for excellence.

The role combines mechanical design, product development, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful customer projects and strategic initiatives. On-site collaboration with manufacturing and suppliers is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading engineering projects with scope, schedule, and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and product development projects.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Experience in supporting customer-facing projects and engineered-to-order products is preferred.
  • Knowledge of vacuum systems, pump systems, skid design, piping systems, and fabrication processes is preferred.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
  • Experience with ERP systems and BOM management.
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and piping design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

  • Lead multiple customer and internal engineering projects from kickoff through final implementation.
  • Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) and product development initiatives through stage-gate processes.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, costs, and risks to ensure successful project execution.
  • Perform CAD design work and prepare component and assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Support manufacturing operations by resolving design, quality, and production issues.
  • Assist Purchasing with component sourcing, procurement activities, and shortage resolution.
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), customer witness testing, and performance validation.
  • Analyze test data and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment focused on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
