Responsibilities

About the Position:

We are currently looking to fill a full-time Project Engineer position. This role will assist in the overall administration of various construction projects and will work alongside our Project Managers and Project Executives.

A project engineer will help to oversee the day-to-day construction activities, project planning, scheduling, resource allocation and compliance with quality standards. Additionally, the project engineer will have other responsibilities that span a broad-spectrum including procurement, cost management, revenue & cost projections, quality management, contract administration and safety management.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to help oversee all phases of the construction project timeline, including developing an early construction plan.
  • Reconcile time and quantities in our construction systems.
  • Complete submittals and transmittals.
  • Attend site visits with Project Managers and monitor progress of construction activities on a regular basis.
  • Identify and address changes in scope of work.
  • Assist with schedule updates on a project.
  • Analyzing the buyout versus the budget on a project.
  • Responsible for assisting with invoices and coding tickets.
  • Maintain positive client/subcontractor relations throughout the duration of the project’s life cycle.
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to adapt to change of direction with concurrent projects at a given time.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and cost forecasting
  • Familiar with and understand OSHA regulations, current building codes and contract documents.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and specifically within Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software
  • Knowledge of heavy highway, bridge or concrete construction and earthen retentions systems are a plus.
Education/Experience:
  • Applicants with a two-year junior/community college degree may apply.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of project management type experience within construction industry preferred or equivalent combination of education & knowledge with construction and design.
