Job summary

Energy Drive Systems is seeking a senior Project Engineer for North America to own design reviews, commissioning, and handover of technically complex projects across the region. This field-based role requires leadership in MV/LV electrical systems, VFDs, and industrial automation platforms.

You will travel across North America, predominantly the Midwest, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely and to high engineering standards. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience delivering heavy industrial engineering projects.
• Background in Electrical Engineering, Automation or Mechatronics.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV electrical systems and VFDs.
• Experience with Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider or ABB platforms.
• Commissioning and troubleshooting experience in live industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design reviews through commissioning and handover.
• Oversee FAT/SAT testing and site acceptance activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient project delivery.
• Travel across North America, mainly Midwest, to client sites and projects.

Energy Drive Systems is a global leader in industrial energy efficiency, delivering Intelligent Motor Control and Energy Efficiency-as-a-Service (EEaaS) solutions to heavy industry. As we continue expanding across North Ameirca, we’re looking for an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of technically complex projects throughout the region.

This is a senior, field-based role for an engineer who enjoys taking ownership—from technical design reviews through commissioning, optimisation and final client handover.

What you’ll be doing

• Medium & Low Voltage electrical systems
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Industrial automation and PLC/SCADA systems
• Energy optimisation and industrial process improvements
• Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT)
• Commissioning, troubleshooting and client handover

Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you’ll ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest engineering standards.

We’re looking for someone with:

• 10+ years’ experience delivering heavy industrial engineering projects
• A background in Electrical Engineering, Automation or Mechatronics

• Experience with industrial automation platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider or ABB

Experience within steel, mining, manufacturing, utilities, process industries or other heavy industrial environments would be highly advantageous.
