General Responsibilities:

Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This includes performing and leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and report writing. Review drawings and construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Prepare proposals and cost estimates, track project progress and budgets, and recommend changes. Research and resolve design and construction problems. Analyze laboratory or field data for reports. Apply sound engineering principles and communicate complex issues effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Services may span sectors such as public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Follow safety rules, participate in pre-task planning, and report safety issues.
2. Monitor and improve quality standards on projects.
3. Ensure consistent quality in project and proposal delivery.
4. Manage detailed phases of moderately complex projects.
5. Independently perform projects or segments of larger projects.
6. Plan, schedule, and coordinate project work.
7. Collaborate with senior project managers for larger projects.
8. Make design, engineering, and construction recommendations.
9. Prepare proposals and reports of varying complexity.
10. Perform quality control reviews of proposals.
11. Evaluate laboratory and field data for reports.
12. Serve as a technical adviser to junior team members.
13. Interact with clients and project teams regarding scope, progress, and findings.
14. Write and prepare engineering reports.
15. Participate in marketing and business development.
16. Supervise graduate, field, and project engineering staff.
17. Work under supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
18. Begin mentoring and application process for certification as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
2. Minimum 5-8 years of experience.
3. Master's degree in engineering preferred.
4. Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
5. Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
