Job summary

TNT-Crane- in Louisiana seeks a Project Engineer to support crane and rigging projects from our St. James or Norco branches. You will perform job-site visits, review scope with clients, and translate requirements into precise lift plans and drawings.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Engineering or related field, has AutoCAD proficiency and experience in crane/rigging planning, and is comfortable working around refinery or chemical plants. Knowledge of MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, Design Drafting, or related discipline; Equivalent experience may be substitute.
• Experience with software in Microsoft Office suite.
• 3 years of experience in planning for cranes and/or rigging preferred.
• Familiarity with working in refineries and chemical plants preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD preferred, equivalent experience with other crane/rigging planning software acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform a job site visit to assess jobsite and review job scope with client.
• Utilize computer aided design software to draw the crane, matting, rigging, load, and jobsite.
• Determine the proper crane size, type and configuration.
• Determine the proper rigging size, type and capacity.
• Determine the necessary matting to achieve an allowable ground bearing pressure.
• Assemble lift plan packets with detailed drawings.
• Review the lift plan with client and field personnel performing the work.
• Relay all relevant job costs and pricing considerations to the sales and/or operations team.
