Job summary

CROM, LLC is seeking a Project Engineer to support project managers and field teams, ensuring safety, quality, and efficient documentation from preconstruction through project closeout.

You will review plans, prepare submittals, maintain schedules, coordinate with contractors and suppliers, and assist with field verifications and technical queries to keep projects on track.

You will also assist in cost tracking, change orders, and document control to support successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent.

• Experience in construction management is advantageous.

Job Purpose:

The Project Engineer (PE) supports project managers and field teams in planning, coordinating and executing CROM’s projects safely, to the highest standard of quality and with purpose driven efficiency. This role ensures technical accuracy, efficient project documentation, material procurement and overall project support from preconstruction through project closeout.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Project Coordination & Technical Support

• Reviewplansandspecificationsforaccuracy,constructability,andscope alignment. Assist Project Managers in reviewing and interpreting contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Prepareandreviewsubmittals,shopdrawings,productdata,andtechnical documents.
• Maintainandupdateprojectschedules,submittals,RFIs,andchangeorders to ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Coordinatewithgeneralcontractors,suppliers,subcontractors,andinternal teams.
• Attendcoordinationmeetingsandtrackaction items.
• Support field operations with layout verification, quality checks, and documentation.
• Supportfieldinstallationbyresolvingtechnicalquestionsandproviding clarifications.
• AssistProjectManagerandSuperintendentwithday-to-dayproject operations.

Procurement & Material Management

• Assistwithpurchasingmaterials,equipment,andspecialtycomponents.
• Trackdeliveryschedulesandleadtimestoavoiddelays.
• Coordinatewithvendorstoensureproductsmeetprojectrequirementsandspecifications

Quality Control & Compliance

• SupportimplementationofQA/QCproceduresspecifictothespecialtytrade.

• Verify that installation methods comply with project specifications, applicable codes, and manufacturer

• Documentobservationsandsupportcorrectiveactionsasneeded.

Cost & Documentation Management

• Assistwithprojectcosttracking,forecasting,andbillingsupport.
• Preparechangeorderrequestsandgathersupportingdocumentation.
• Maintainaccurateandorganizedprojectfiles,drawings,andcorrespondence.

Scheduling & Budget Tracking

• Help develop and maintain project schedules, including look-ahead updates.
• Track project costs and assist with budget monitoring and reporting.

Documentation & Reporting

• Assistwithprojectcosttracking,forecasting,andbilling support.
• Preparechangeorderrequestsandgathersupporting documentation.
• Prepare progress reports for internal teams and clients.
• Maintainaccurateandorganizedprojectfiles,drawings,and correspondence.

Safety & Compliance

• Support enforcement of CROM’s safety policies and procedures.
• Participateinjobsitesafetywalksanddocumentsafety observations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.

Communication & Coordination

• Act as a liaison between project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate field conditions or concerns promptly.

Project Closeout

• Compile and prepare O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and warranty documentation
• Track and finalize project punch list items.
• Support turnover to the client and ensure all contractual closeout requirements are met.

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar, or an equivalent technical degree, or equivalent and qualifying industry expertise.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Valid Driver’s License, with a clean driving record and Insurance.
• Must be a team player and able to work well with a diverse group of personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experienceinaspecialtycontractingdiscipline.
• Internshipsor1–3yearsofindustryexperiencedesirable.

• 30 Hour OSHA Certification
• Construction internship
• Concrete industry experience.
• Proficiency in MS Project or other related scheduling software.
• Proficiency in Procore
• Proficiency in Bluebeam software.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification.

• Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies.
• A hands-on training period will be required for the individual to become familiar with the construction of prestressed concrete tanks and the use of repair materials and methods utilized for infrastructure repair.

Working Conditions:

• Travel: This position will require that the Project Engineer travel in the assigned territory, field deployed, and assignment dictated by the number of projects in the area at any given time and as required by the Regional Team and Director of Construction.
• Travel toprojectsites,vendorlocations,orcoordinationmeetings.
• Mix of office and field work depending on project requirements.
• Projects in other areas/territories and with other Regional Managers/ Regional Leads may be assigned as fluctuations occur in the workload of the assigned Regional Manager/Regional Lead.
• Extended work hours are required as necessary to meet project deadlines.
