Accuride Corporation is seeking a capable project engineer to manage day-to-day capital and engineering projects at the Erie plant—from conception through completion. You will oversee budgets, timelines, procurement, and scope development, coordinating with contractors and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred) or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in project engineering or project management in manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of leading and completing capital projects.
  • Prior experience with the Capital Appropriations Request (CAR) process.
  • Proficiency working with project management and engineering design software.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software and engineering design applications.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including environmental, safety & health compliance regulations.
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Word).
  • Ability to effectively interface with internal and external customers and stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with all relevant engineering standards and quality control measures during the project life cycle.
  • Network with regulatory agencies as needed to obtain the necessary project permits, approvals etc.

Job description

Basic Purpose

This position is directly responsible for the day-to-day management of capital and engineering projects for the Erie plant from conception to completion, including the oversight of project budgets and timelines, the procurement of materials and equipment and the development of project specifications and the related scope of work. This position requires a professional balance of technical expertise, project management acumen and the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders.

Principal Accountabilities
  1. Plan, schedule and manage engineering projects from start to finish.
  2. Develop project specifications, scopes of work and capital appropriations requests (CARs).
  3. Manage project budgets and oversee the procurement of materials and equipment.
  4. Coordinate project roles & responsibilities with contractors, vendors and team members and monitor site activities to ensure adherence to project timelines.
  5. Solve technical issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  6. Prepare and present project progress reports as required.
