Job summary

Associated Engineering in Edmonton is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to deliver bridge and culvert projects for municipal clients. You will lead project teams and provide technical and management support.

The role requires civil engineering degree and PE/ET eligibility with APEGA, 3–5 years of bridge experience, and willingness to travel in Alberta. The position offers hybrid work, strong benefits, and opportunities for mentoring and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as PE or Engineer-In-Training with APEGA.
  • 3–5 years of bridge engineering experience in the consulting industry.
  • Experience with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; valid driver's license; willingness to travel in Alberta.

  • Lead with a forward-thinking approach to solve client problems and develop the team.
  • Provide project management and technical support on transportation projects focusing on bridges and culverts.
  • Manage designs for replacement/rehabilitation of bridges, culverts and pedestrian bridges.
  • Oversee drawing and contract document preparation and supporting designs.
  • Mentor junior staff and guide project teams.
  • Advance projects through planning, design, and construction phases.
  • Prepare technical reports, modelling and design calculations.
  • Collaborate with team across disciplines and offices.

What you'll be doing
  • You will lead with a forward-thinking approach that helps our clients solve problems and promotes the team's development.
  • You will provide project management and technical support on transportation projects for public and private sector clients with a focus on bridges and culverts.
  • Managing designs for the replacement or rehabilitation of standard/major bridges, culverts and pedestrian bridges.
  • Managing teams in the preparation of drawings and contract documents and supporting designs.
  • Providing guidance, including mentoring, and instruction, to junior staff.
  • Advancing projects through the planning, concept, design, and construction phases.
  • Preparing technical reports, modelling and design calculations.
  • Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team as well as other disciplines and offices.
Does this sound like you?
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-In-Training with APEGA.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in bridge engineering within the consulting industry.
  • Experience working Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Ability to travel throughout Alberta.
