Arcadis is seeking a self‑starting and experienced Project Civil/Environmental Engineer to support an expanding portfolio of projects throughout the United States. As a Project Engineer you will collaborate with scientists, engineers, project managers, and technical experts on various activities in support of civil design and environmental permitting projects for a diverse portfolio, including projects in the energy, industrial, and transportation sectors associated with site development, reclamation, and restoration projects. The position will require experience with federal and state environmental permitting.

The candidate should have demonstrated experience with the management of civil or environmental engineering projects, including land development and associated planning, soil and erosion control design, and stormwater permitting. They should also be able to analyze documentation such as technical reports, construction submittals, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to understand site characteristics (e.g., geotechnical properties, terrain, hydrologic and hydraulic characteristics) to support design development. The candidate will review applicable regulations, permitting requirements, and standards, interpret data and regulatory constraints, and develop civil engineering designs on projects of varying complexity. They will produce quality materials within tight timeframes while simultaneously managing several assignments.

This role will primarily be office‑based; however, as needed, you will conduct field assignments, including participating in face‑to‑face client, technical, and stakeholder meetings. You will be required to travel up to 15%. Additional responsibilities include delegating work and mentoring junior engineers, facilitating group meetings, and working effectively with local, national, and global technical and client teams.
