Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer/Environmental Engineer to support an expanding portfolio of projects. The successful candidate would be based in Sewickley, PA/Pittsburgh, PA.

As part of our Resilience Environment team, you will work closely with a team of experienced environmental and civil engineers, collaborating on diverse projects of varying sizes and types across North America. Our team operates in a supportive, mentoring-oriented environment, emphasizing technical growth and professional development.

Role accountabilities:

• In this role, you will primarily focus on projects related to linear transportation, land development, and restoration for a wide range of clients, including industrial-private, public sector, and agency-based organizations. Your responsibilities will involve earthwork and hydrologic-hydraulic modeling, site design, development of construction and permitting related documents, and office-based construction support.
• Engineering design including land development planning, hydraulic modeling/calculations, erosion and sediment control evaluations and layout, and earthwork site design

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following abilities for the position: proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong communication skills, a focus on health and safety, and excellent teambuilding and organizational abilities. These attributes are essential for success in the role and will enable the candidate to make valuable contributions to projects. Additionally, the candidate should have a strong passion for pursuing a career in the civil/environmental engineering sector. A valid driver\'s license and clean driving record are also required for this position.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

• Have earned a BS of Civil, Environmental, or related engineering discipline (a diploma is required upon graduation)
• Previous work experience (internship or full-time experience in civil or environmental consulting or related field)

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of previous work experience (internship or full-time experience in civil or environmental consulting or related field)
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or scheduled within the next 6 months
• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, or other terrain modeling design software
• Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling (e.g., HydroCAD, WinTR-55, PondPack, HEC-RAS)

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
