Job summary

BrightView is seeking a Project Engineer in Columbus to support the project management team on large-scale commercial landscape construction projects. You will assist with planning, coordination, and oversight to ensure on-time, on-scope delivery.

You will coordinate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams, manage timelines, and learn our software systems while maintaining a high standard of quality and customer service.

Qualifications

• BA in landscape architecture, civil engineering, or construction management or equivalent.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management software.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service experience.
• Bilingual Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Ensure construction services meet contract specs, on budget, on schedule, with high quality.
• Perform takeoffs using OST and gather pricing for estimates.
• Review take-offs with estimating team.
• Manage document control: submittals, change orders, field production tracking, purchasing docs, contract administration.
• Prepare reports and information as requested.
• Coordinate between branch admin, field, sales, estimating, and branch management.
• Work with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and employees to ensure quality and service.
• Learn company programs and systems and stay organized.
• Manage timelines and deliverables; handle multiple tasks.

Job Summary

• The Project Engineer supports the project management team in executing large-scale commercial landscape construction projects. This role works closely with the Project Manager to assist with planning, coordination, and oversight, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with the construction team to ensure that all construction services are delivered according to contract specifications, on budget, according to schedule, and with a high standard of quality
• Perform takeoffs using Onscreen Take-off (OST) and gather pricing for estimates
• Review take-offs with the estimating team
• Manage document control, including submittals, change orders, field production tracking, purchasing documentation, and contract administration
• Prepare reports and information as requested
• Coordinate between the branch administrative team, field employees, sales team, estimating team, and branch management regularly
• Work closely with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and employees; ensure exceptional customer service and quality at all times
• Ability to work on a small team “reporting” to a PM
• Manage timelines and deliverables
• Ability to learn our computer programs and systems
• Very well organized
• Self-motivated and understands timeline demand and ability to manage multiple tasks/jobs at once

Education and Experience:

• B.A degree in Landscape Architecture, civil engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent work experience
• Proficient with computer software programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and project management software
• Strong work ethic
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Customer service experience
• Bilingual (Spanish)

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Constant operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, a cell phone, and printers/copiers
• Position is sedentary; must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of the time
• Operates in an office environment and requires in-person presence
• Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur

• Work is conducted in a professional office environment, with a collaborative and dynamic team setting, and requires in-person presence

Compensation Pay Range:

$65,000-$70,000/year depending on experience
