Job description

We are seeking a Project Engineer to manage and drive capital projects within a dynamic, regulated manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for an engineer who takes ownership of project schedules, stays ahead of project needs, and is comfortable holding contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders accountable for commitments.

The successful candidate will be highly proactive and persistent in communication—anticipating upcoming needs, following up before deadlines, identifying roadblocks early, escalating issues when necessary, and pushing activities forward to keep projects on track.

Pay Rate: $70-$100/hr
Schedule: M-F Day Schedule
Type: 12-Month Contract
Overview

The Project Engineer will manage capital projects ranging from approximately $10K to $5MM, partnering with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget in a PSM and GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage capital projects from concept through execution
  • Develop scopes, schedules, and budgets while ensuring PSM and GMP compliance
  • Track milestones and communicate project status to stakeholders
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Oversee contractor performance, safety, and engineering standards
  • Support operations, engineering, and maintenance teams
  • Participate in technical and safety reviews (P&IDs, HAZOPs, PHAs, Mechanical Integrity)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering; Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • 4+ years of engineering, project engineering, or capital project experience.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and external partners in a manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP, PSM, and process improvement concepts.
  • Strong organizational, communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
What Makes This Role Successful

The ideal candidate is more than a technical engineer—they are a project driver. They consistently communicate with contractors and stakeholders, know what needs to happen next, follow up before issues become delays, and are comfortable pushing others to meet their commitments. Success in this role requires schedule ownership, persistence, accountability, and proactive communication.
