Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of engineering, manufacturing, or project-related experience.
• Strong hands-on proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo).
• Experience with industrial or manufacturing project work, and capital projects.
• Greenfield facility development experience is highly desirable.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% (domestic and international).
• Ability to work from the Chicago, IL office when not traveling.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review engineering drawings, layouts, specs, and documentation using 2D/3D CAD.
• Support new manufacturing facilities, greenfield projects, and capital improvements.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Assist with equipment installation, inspections, and commissioning support.
• Review submittals, vendor drawings, and procurement docs.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and engineering solutions.
• Monitor progress, maintain docs, and provide leadership updates.
• Travel to project sites as required.

The ideal candidate will have strong 2D and 3D CAD capabilities, manufacturing or industrial project experience, and an interest in supporting greenfield facility development.

This position offers exposure to domestic and international projects, working closely with engineering leadership, contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Candidates must be willing to travel internationally up to 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, prepare, and review engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, and technical documentation using 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Support engineering activities associated with new manufacturing facilities, greenfield projects, and capital improvements.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution to ensure successful project delivery.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, equipment suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
• Participate in equipment installation, construction activities, inspections, and commissioning support.
• Review technical submittals, vendor drawings, equipment specifications, and procurement documentation.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and assist with engineering solutions throughout project execution.
• Monitor project progress, maintain documentation, and provide status updates to leadership.
• Travel to domestic and international project sites to support engineering and construction activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Approximately 3–5 years of engineering, manufacturing, or project-related experience; additional relevant experience will be considered.
• Strong hands‑on proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar tools.
• Experience supporting industrial or manufacturing engineering projects.
• Exposure to capital projects, equipment installation, facility development, or construction coordination.
• Greenfield manufacturing or new facility startup experience is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional project teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, including international assignments.
• Ability to work from the Chicago, IL office when not traveling.
