Job summary

The Project Engineer II role focuses on independent management of engineering deliverables for mid to large low-voltage systems projects, leading submittals, drawings, and technical documentation while coordinating with PMs, field teams, and vendors for successful execution.

Pay: $40/hr. Location options include Chantilly, VA; Baltimore, MD; Richmond, VA; Altamonte Springs, FL.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of engineering or coordination experience.
• Proficient in CAD and design tools.
• Strong understanding of low-voltage systems, including security, access control, fire alarm, AV.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and produce complete engineering documentation packages, including drawings and submittals.
• Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with PMs, field supervisors, and other resources to align deliverables with schedules.
• Assist with change orders and value engineering.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to field teams during installation and commissioning.
• Collaborate with vendors to obtain specifications and support.
• Identify and propose engineering solutions to resolve challenges.

Position Summary

Person can work from any of the following office locations: Baltimore, MD, Chantilly, VA, Richmond, VA or Altamonte Springs, FL offices.

The Project Engineer is a mid-level post-sales engineering role responsible for independently managing engineering deliverables for mid to large-sized low-voltage systems projects. This position leads the preparation of technical documentation, submittal packages, and drawings while coordinating with project managers, field teams, and other engineering resources to ensure successful project execution. The Project Engineer II applies advanced technical knowledge to design and document systems in compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and company best practices.

Pay: $40/hr
