Job summary

Monadnock Construction, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to assist the Project Manager and project team in delivering projects on time and within budget. You will coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and professionals using Procore to manage documents, RFIs, submittals, and schedules.

Responsibilities include updating logs, supporting startup and permit processes, tracking changes, and ensuring quality control and safety programs. A bachelor's degree in CM/Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of construction schedules, budgets, and project documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Experience with Procore and documentation control is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager and team to execute projects on budget and schedule.
  • Create and maintain document logs and distribute drawings, RFIs, and submittals in Procore.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and professionals to meet project goals.
  • Update project schedule and milestones monthly; track material releases and deliveries.
  • Assist with permits, site setup, and safety and quality control programs.
  • Prepare lists for required submittals and log packages from subs in Procore.
  • Attend coordination meetings and log drawings and files.
  • Track changes, payment applications, and waivers; assist with closeout documentation.
  • Assist with testing, inspections, and special certifications as needed.

Job description

The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager and the project team with the execution of a project and to help manages all subcontractors, vendors, and professionals towards successful completion relative to budget and schedule goals.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Contract Documents
  • Create document log and update as required.(Procore software)
  • Upload, track & distribution (Procore software) Upload, track & distribution of Sketches and RFI’s (Procore software)
  • Ensure field office has most up-to date drawings, specifications, sketches and RFI’s
2. Misc. take-offs
  • Assist with various take-offs. (On Screen Take-off software)
3. Bids & Proposals
  • Solicit, follow up, receive & log
  • Assist with review for completeness and accuracy.
4. Project Start up and Permits
  • Assist with expediting paperwork to obtain the required permits for the project including NB, DOT, and DEP etc.
  • Assist with site set up for such things as, trailers, document folders and logs, signage, temp services etc.
5. Submittals (product data, samples, shop drawings, etc.)
  • Prepare list with PM for required project specific submittals.
  • Solicit packages from subcontractors, receive, upload and log (Procore)
  • Assist PM in the review for basic compliance, compare with project drawings, specifications, sketches, RFIs and scope of work before submitting to design team.
  • Submit to design team, track (Procore) and follow-up for prompt return.
  • Assist in the review of returned packages, log (Procore), return to subcontractor & forward a copy to field office.
  • Distribute approved submittals to and coordinate with the appropriate contractors required.
6. MEP Coordination
  • Log & track drawings & files.
  • Attend coordination meetings.
7. RFIs and Sketches (Procore)
  • Receive, upload, and log.
  • Submit, track, and follow-up.
  • Review response, log, return to subcontractor & forward a copy to field office.
  • Mark-up master contract drawing(s) & specifications (office hard copy)
8. Requisitions, Change Orders & Purchase Orders
  • Solicit & track payment applications from subcontractors.
  • Log and track waivers including 2nd tier.
9. Project Schedule
  • Update project schedule and milestones (monthly).
  • Track material release, shipment and coordinate deliveries to site with superintendents.
10. Meeting minutes
  • Weekly in-house (Procore).
  • Owner/Architect meeting (Procore).
11. Safety
  • Assist with ensuring compliance to Monadnock’s Safety Program.
  • Become familiar with and adhere to policies and procedures contained in the Monadnock Safety Manual.
12. Quality Control
  • Assist with creating QC checklist such as pre sheetrock, façade, MEP, finishes, etc. for use by the Superintendents.
  • Create material log and track for deliveries (Mockups, façade, apartments, etc.)
13. Testing & Special Inspections
  • Receive & log reports.
  • Track & NCR (Non-compliance Report) follow-up.
14. Special Certifications
  • Assist with the coordination, log and track documents required for compliance with NYSERDA Multifamily Performance Program, Enterprise Green Communities Certification Program, and M/WBE tracking.
15. Department of Buildings and Certificate of Occupancy
  • Assisting with tracking log of requirements for TCO and CO.
16. Project Close out and documentation
  • Track punch list and handover to owner.
  • Gather O&Ms and as built.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Basic understanding of construction schedule, budgets, and project documentation

Salary range: $70,000 - 95,000 annually

The salary range posted is the base salary only and does not reflect the total compensation package.
