Job summary

Henkel’s Adhesive Technologies unit in the United States is seeking a process engineering/project coordinator to support planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects, ensuring schedules and budgets are met. You will coordinate with contractors and internal teams to drive successful project outcomes.

You will review drawings, support safety programs, and assist with commissioning and startup activities across the site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1–3 years of experience in chemical processing or manufacturing.
  • Strong project management and multi-priority handling.
  • Ability to read drawings, evaluate processes and use data to decide.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate daily activities between contractors and internal operations; attend meetings.
  • Generate purchase orders and track equipment and materials.
  • Verify installations against P&IDs, specs, and drawings.
  • Support safety initiatives including permits, risk assessments and MOC processes.
  • Assist with equipment commissioning and startup activities.

What you´ll do
  • Support the planning,execution, and delivery of capital projects while helping ensure projectsstay on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate daily activitiesbetween contractors and internal operations, participatein contractor meetings, and provide construction oversight as needed.
  • Generatepurchase orders and manage the tracking, storage, and coordination ofproject equipment and materials.
  • Conduct field verification ofinstallations against P&IDs, equipment specification sheets,and engineering design drawings to ensure accurate execution.
  • Supportprocess safety and compliance initiatives, including Safe Work Permits,risk assessments, HAZOPs, MOCs, PSSRs, and other safety-related programs.
  • Assist with equipmentcommissioning, startup activities, and ongoing engineering and operationalimprovement initiatives across the site.
What makes you a good fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or MechanicalEngineering.
  • 1-3 years of experience in thechemical process industry, with hands‑on experience in or supporting achemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project managementskills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects atdifferent stages simultaneously.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, evaluateprocesses, and make data driven decisions; knowledge of unit operations,PLC/DCS systems, process safety management, and industry standards (API,ASME, NFPA, ISO, OSHA) is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication andrelationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectivelyand influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% required.

The salary range for this role is $75,000.00 and $80,000.00. This range represents the good‑faith minimum and maximum wages the Company reasonably expects to offer for this role at the time of posting. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for incentive pay or other forms of compensation, as applicable. The Company also offers a comprehensive benefits package as described above. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, experience, education, training, and work location.
