Job summary

Rader McCary Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to partner with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager on day-to-day activities on-site and in the office to advance project goals.

You will collaborate with the PM and subcontractors to ensure quality work is performed safely and on time. Responsibilities include coordinating subcontractors, performing safety/quality inspections, maintaining schedules, and managing logs, RFIs, submittals and costs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field required.
  • Experience in a construction site environment preferred.
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with computer programs including Procore, Excel, Word, Outlook, Box, Bluebeam and PDF viewers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate work of all subcontractors onsite and inspections.
  • Perform routine safety and quality inspections throughout the project.
  • Monitor, update and edit project schedule as changes are made onsite.
  • Update logs, projections, change orders, RFIs, submittals and schedule in software.
  • Review scope/plans, specs, schedule, budget and deliverables; track costs.
  • Procure tools and materials to align with the work schedule.
  • Operate power construction equipment as needed.
  • Attend project meetings (OAC, Foreman, Schedule and Budget Reviews).

Job description

The Project Engineer is responsible for working with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager on day-to-day activities on-site and in the office to further the project goals. This role works closely with the Project Manager and subcontractors to ensure quality work is performed timely and safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with Superintendent and Project Manager to coordinate work of all subcontractors onsite as well as inspections required by the authority having jurisdiction.
  • Work with Superintendent and Project Manager to perform routine safety and quality inspections throughout the course of the project.
  • Work with Superintendent and Project Manager to monitor, update and edit project schedule as changes are made onsite.
  • Work with Superintendent and Project Manager to update weekly and daily logs, projections, change orders, RFIs, submittals and schedule in appropriate software.
  • Review project scope/plans, specifications, schedule, budget, contract documents, and deliverables. Also, track equipment and labor cost.
  • Work with Superintendent and Project Manager to procure tools and materials needed for the project to ensure availability according to the work schedule.
  • Assists in operating one or several types of power construction equipment, such as excavators, graders, rough terrain extended boom forklifts, dozers, scrapers, back hoe, tractors, or loaders.
  • Attend project meetings including OAC Meetings, Foreman’s Meetings, Schedule and Budget Reviews, etc.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in a working environment
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines
  • Working knowledge of computer programs including Procore, Excel, Word, Outlook, Box, Bluebeam and PDF Viewers.
  • Effective organizational as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.
  • Meet physical requirements for driving, lifting and carrying equipment/material (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), climbing ladders, operating and working from man lifts, operating electric tools, using hand tools, and providing services under various weather conditions.
