Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our multidisciplinary civil engineering team in Biloxi, MS. You will lead technical development of projects, coordinate with clients, project managers, and design teams across site civil, transportation, coastal, and water resources disciplines.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, a PE license, at least 4 years of consulting experience, and proficiency with Civil 3D/OpenRoads/MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE license is required for this role.
• Minimum 4 years of engineering consulting experience.
• Experience across Site Civil, Transportation, Water Resources, H&H, Coastal, Federal Infrastructure, Municipal, or Land Development.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, or MicroStation preferred.
• Strong coordination and communication across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering designs, construction plans, specs, and reports.
• Lead project design efforts from planning through construction.
• Perform engineering calculations, quantity estimates, and cost analyses.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Review documents for quality and compliance.
• Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.
• Mentor junior engineers and staff.
• Support business development and proposals.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) license

Strong project coordination and communication skills

The successful candidate will lead the technical development of projects while collaborating with clients, project managers, and design teams across a variety of civil engineering disciplines.

Candidates with experience in site civil, transportation, coastal engineering, hydrology and hydraulics (H&H), water resources, federal, municipal, or other infrastructure markets are encouraged to apply.
